The Real No Spin Zone

Caution: this is the real no spin zone.

I.
I find it interesting the media has rated the Irish-American McCloy Sago Coal Miner in a comma as news worthy as the Israeli Prime Minister Sharon that is also in a comma. I guess that's the American way of secretly saying that we care as much about the Irish American coal miner life as Sharon's. Perhaps it is just a media conspiracy this time on the side of American values.

Summary- The average American cares as much for that coal miners life as they do for the life of the Israeli Prime Minister.

II.
So why is it that every time in the third page of the Chicago Tribune there is all this write about either; Israel, Muslims, or Jews? Is this little county known as Israel worthy of daily third page news? Irish-Americans were undoubtedly more influential in the founding of America than Israel's. It's about time the third page of Chicago Tribune be committed solely to political news in Ireland.

Summary- It's not politically correct having the third page of a major central American newspaper solely committed to middle eastern politics.

III.
So, now Fox News is showing the weather conditions of Israel in a sub caption of the broadcast. Surely the weather in Ireland is more important for sailors in America to know about. Then again, I guess my Irish-American college roommate was right saying the Jews are trying to run the world with a weather machine.

Summary- An American news television station should not have the weather of Israel in a sub caption during the middle of a news broadcast not relating to weather.

II. Update:
On the third page of the Chicago Tribune, it started publishing other topics than Israel, Jews and Muslims. However, the third page does still contain topics about Israel, Jews, and Muslims several days a week. Unfortunately for the good American that doesn't give a damn about the middle east, the topic is moved to the front page when its not on the third page.

Good post, and I agree whole heartedly. Don't get me wrong, I like hearing news about whats going on around the world, but there are some things that don't need a whole page to tell you. We have enough issues in this State to deal with then having to worry about the weather in Israel. If you need to know the weather there that bad, get on the internet and look for it.

Thanks for taking a look at my site. We seem to have some of the same feelings for some things.
